Best Health insurance for a young mom and college student?

I’m looking to find a health insurance suitable for me, a young mother (20) and college student. I did have Medicaid but they’re saying I make too much and I’m only allowed to make 188 a month.. O_0 So I decided to just stop wasting my time and invest into my own insurance. My fiance said maybe I can get on his after we get married but Idk about that.
What are some good affordable Health insurance for someone like me?

Sarah Fields answers:

First, I’d need to understand your definition of “best”.
Second, I’d need to know your state because insurance companies do not write policies in every state.
Third, I’d need to know your height and weight because insurance companies will decline to accept you or may increase your premium based on your weight.
Fourth, I’d need to know what your current health condition is because insurance companies will decline to accept you or may increase your premium based on your current health.

In other words, talk with a local agent that works with all of the major companies in your area. The agent can help you find the best plan for your situation and budget. They can explain what you get and, more importantly, what you don’t get with the “cheap” policies. There is no extra charge using an agent.

If your fiancé has a policy through an employer you can get on his policy when you get married, as long as the group policy includes spouses (nearly all do). If his policy is an individual policy you will be underwritten, so the above steps 3 and 4 will apply.

You just need a good broker to help you find a plan. We like Azimuth Risk, IMG, and a few others.

Some Health Insurance Companies Offering Decent and Cheap Plans for International Students in the US?

What would be some companies offering decent and affordable health insurance plans?

Sarah Fields answers:

I’m not sure where the first two responders looked at school coverage, but 9 times out of 10 it’s expensive AND horrible. International students can usually get away with a travel medical insurance policy.

Just find a good broker to help you find a plan.
