Thomas asks…

How Much Does A Baby’s Circumcision Usually Cost?

anybody know the general range?
thankyou all so much.

Sarah Fields answers:

It depends on your Health Insurance and where you live.

It’s about $300 without Insurance here in California. Our Blue Cross covered most of the procedure, but some Insurance companies don’t cover any of the cost because they consider it ‘cosmetic’ ..

Edit to ADD:
My son was circumcised at the Hospital when he was 2 days old, he was circumcised by his Pediatrician the morning we brought him home from the Hospital. It was not ‘free’. We received a bill from his Pediatrician for the procedure. Our Health Insurance (Blue Cross) covered the majority of the bill, we only had to pay about $75 out of pocket. We didn’t have to make a special appointment to have it done. My son’s Pediatrician asked me before he was born if we were going to circumcise, we said yes, so he scheduled the procedure to be done before our son ever left the Hospital.

William asks…

Getting insurance for my new born?

I’m was born here in California but my husband isn’t. He’s an immigrant but my question is that we just had a new born and I’m wondering would there be a problem getting my baby insurance. I’m asking since I know they’ll ask for his income and since I don’t work I have no choice but to put his. I can’t say I’m a single mom either since we got married. Does any one have any advice on what I can or should do? Please no rude comments thank you.

Sarah Fields answers:

Check into your state run health plans. I am married and right now my husband is the only one that works as well. His job offers health benefits, but even with his employers paying part of it, it is still way too much money out of each paycheck for us to even consider. Our household income is just a little too high for us to qualify for medicaid.

I live in New York state, but we qualified for a program here that is basically for children of parents who don’t qualify for medicaid. It is called Child Health Plus (again, this is just in New York state). I found out about it by calling a local pediatrician and doing some research on the internet.

Good luck!

Charles asks…

According to the FBI, Illegals account for the largest percentage of increase in crime in the US. Why?

FBI crime figures just in for 2005 show illegal infiltrators accounted for the largest percentage of increase in crime, all types of violent crimes, among males 18-35. If the invaders are just here to do the jobs Americans supposedly wont do, why are they here committing violent acts against the very people that they are trying to live with?

Sarah Fields answers:

They are NOT all here to work!

If you discover an illegal, call ICE. Have them arrested.
