Linda asks…

Where will small businesses get the money to fulfill Obama’s health insurance mandates?

What gives Obama the right to saddle small businesses with government required health insurance?

If Obama thinks everyone should have it maybe he should require people to buy their own policy. Why is it an employers responsibility to provide it?
fangtaiyang: Spoken like a person that has never and will never own or manage a business in your life. Go buy yourself a clue.

Sarah Fields answers:

I am not sure, but as to why? It is because the American people voted Obama in to bring in these changes.

I am amazed that so many Americans are not aware about Obama’s healthcare plans. Http:// During the election, he campaigned for these changes stating that he felt it was unfair to have a system where insurance companies try to escape paying claims. Http:// In addition, insurance company executives have admitted this. Http:// They admit that they drive up costs, buy politicians and refuse to pay for valid claims.
Remember, he was elected to bring in these changes, elected by the American people who want healthcare reform. Http:// And he discussed his plans in debates with McCain, and he still won the election.
First of all, too many people do not know that Obama wants to make insurance more available to all. His system is similar to that which works in Holland and Switzerland. Http://–A-Model-for-the-United-States.aspx It works there and private healthcare companies provide most the insurance to the people there.
FACT – the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.
FACT – the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.

That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, the Netherlands, Cuba, Switzerland, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage. And no western European nation with universal healthcare has moved away from it.

Jenny asks…

Do we have to incorporate our small business to offer medical insurance?

We have a small business and I want to get health insurance through our business but someone told me I have to incorporate in order to offer/get health insurance. We only have one employee but I would like to list myself as an employee. Were in Callifornia. Anyone know all the rules? Thanks

Sarah Fields answers:

Not true.

A local agent will know the rules – in most states, two people working there, the employer has to pay at least 50% of the cost, AND, the plan will be individually underwritten, based on the health and age of the two employees. You have to actually be ON THE PAYROLL to be listed as an employee.

At least 50% of the employees must be on the plan.

The insurance company is NOT required to give you a policy – so if your health is so bad you can’t get a private policy, you won’t be able to find someone to give you a group policy, either.

Go talk to a local agent. Find one at

Betty asks…

Why are Republicans against small business help?

The Republicans were against Obama’s emergency small business loans and are against Health Care Insurance Reform. Americas decision to have universal health Insurance for everybody would probably be the most significant savings for small business as the costs have just skyrocketed in the last few years. It would also save billions and billions in the long run by prevention and early identification of problems. What are the the Republican objections to health care reform?

Sarah Fields answers:

Key word HELP. They are completely self absorbed and they don’t want to help anyone.
