Helen asks…

Where to get low cost Breast Cancer Screenings?

I found a hard BB sized bump in my breast, I have No health insurance and I need to diagnose what it is. I have called and gotten quotes for the mammograms and such, pretty pricey. Does anyone know who may offer Breast cancer screenings at a low cost? I am in Arizona, have a job, 27 years old, no health insurance or primary doctor.

Sarah Fields answers:

That’s an issue with a lot of people… I hope this number helps, because it helped my neighbor out who was in a very similar situation (if not exact)

She called 888-753-3174

They wound up really helping her out (even with her pre- existing condition)

Charles asks…

Looking for affordable health insurance in Arizona for my child ONLY?

Kidscare is no longer acccepting applicants and and SCHIP has been discontinued…..All the sites i go to that offer quotes are only for adults and the deductibles are outrageous…. HELP!!

Sarah Fields answers:

Many companies in Arizona have discontinued child only policies in response to the health care bill and the rest will soon follow. However, there are a few companies still available. Contact a local agent that works with all of the major companies for assistance. The agent can find any available plans.

Don’t be afraid of a high deductible. First, many plans have doctor visits and prescriptions that are not subject to the deductible. Second, there are cost effective policies available that can cover that deductible in some cases.

Nancy asks…

Won’t it be sort of nice when Romney and Ryan really start cutting the budget and we have riots?

I’m tired to going to protests with other Liberals and Socialists.

I’m ready to for some new playmates, the Republilcans.

When the Middle Class gets a good “kick in the gut” by Romney and Ryan, they will be ready and put on their marching shoes, with us.

Angry Republicans will be more fun to riot with than Liberals who don’t have guns.

We will set fire to some stuff.

Sarah Fields answers:

Nice? Only if you’re an immoral fool.

It can’t be repeated enough: Republicans really don’t care about debt or deficits.

Anyone would have to be a fool to vote for Mitt Romney now that he’s locked arms with Paul Ryan. A number of faith leaders have come forward to blast Paul Ryan’s extremist vision for America.

Bishop Gene Robinson said, “The Ryan budget robs the poor, the marginalized and the vulnerable of the safety net so integral to their survival. By any measure of civility and regard for one’s neighbor, it’s an immoral disaster.”

Paul Ryan’s budget plan:

-takes health care away from 48 million Americans to pay for a tax cut for the richest 1% to make them $3Trillion richer

-hands Medicare to for-profit health insurance CEOs, and with each year seniors are going to have to pay thousands of dollars more out of pocket while the amount the government pays will shrink

-makes massive cuts in Social Security, setting the stage to hand its $2.6 trust fund over to Wall Street. No wonder Wall Street billionaires have been seen recently wearing “Paul Ryan for VP” pins.

-proposes to off more than three million acres of public lands that belong to We the People in states like Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and several others, to the highest billionaire bidder at a fraction of its real value

-slashes government discretionary spending to its lowest level in 50 years – that means benefits for veterans, senior citizens, the poor, the sick, students – all will be slashed

-preserves $40 Billion in corporate welfare – and Paul Ryan would give American billionaires a $3 trillion tax cut

This is just a partial sampling of what else the Paul Ryan budget would do if applied evenly across the board (FACT not conjecture):

-We wouldn’t have the capacity to enforce the laws that protect the air we breathe, the water we drink, or the food we eat

-Cuts to the FAA would likely result in more flight cancellations, delays, and complete elimination of Air Traffic Control Systems in parts of the country

-Over time, our weather forecast would become less accurate because we couldn’t afford to launch new satellites, and that means governors and mayors would have to wait longer to order evacuations in the event of a hurricane

-Starting in 2014 over 200,000 children would lose Head Start

-Two million mothers and young children would be cut from a program that gives them healthy food

-There would be 4,500 fewer federal grants at the Department of Justice and the FBI to combat violent crime, financial crime, and help secure our borders

-Hundreds of National Parks would be forced to close for part or all of the year

-The year after next, more than ten million college students would see their financial aid cut by an average of more than $1K each

-There would be 1,600 fewer medical grants for research on diseases like cancer, Alzheimer’s and AIDS

-There would be 4,000 fewer scientific research grants, eliminating support for 4,8000 researchers, students and teachers

-Clean energy technologies that are helping us reduce our dependence on foreign oil would be cut by nearly 1/5th

Remember, the Republican game plan is not just to pass the legislation — it’s to first make the legislation seem reasonable. Don’t be fooled.
