House of Representatives To Work On Medicare Physician Payment Fix
2012 January 26
A conference committee will start working on a fix to the Medicare physician payment fix to extend the current “patch” to a full year. This will correct the temporary patch to the expiration of physician payments that the federal government has been playing hot potato with for the last several years. Without the extension to a full year, medical providers would see a dramatic drop in their payments for all Medicare patients, and this would cause many physicians to stop seeing Medicare recipients.
Let’s hope they fix this once and for all, and stop fiddling around with it each year.
