Medicare Advantage Changes This Year From Health Care Reform

2012 January 6
by Tim Thompson

One of the changes ocurring in 2012 as a result of the Affordable Care Act (aka Health Care Reform) is that rebates to Medicare Advantage plans will be reduced.  What this means is that insurance companies will receive lower payouts from the Government for all medical benefits that enrolles have performed.  This reduction in reimbursement to the insurance companies will probably cause rates for Medicare Advantage plans to go in order to compensate for the reduced payments.

Thank you Health Care Reform.  We again can see how this strategy will reduce the costs of health care…NOT!

Stay tuned for more updates.
